Sip Wine Bar
a refined speakeasy fitout wrapped in raven-hued drapery
Set discreetly behind a bustling sidewalk, this moody bar interior was designed to transport patrons into another world. Inspired by the atmosphere of old speakeasies, the design is defined by rich, dark, and soft textures that invite meaningful conversation and a sense of escape from the ordinary. Our client’s vision was to create a space that celebrates Prince Edward County’s vineyards within an interior that feels intimate and refined. We responded with a design that is both high impact and cost-effective, adaptable to future needs.
Housed within an existing storefront, the fitout retains its creaky wood floors and ornate trim while introducing removable drapery and pleated acoustic clouds to enrich both ambience and acoustics. At its centre, a compact bar nook evokes a “black hole,” with mirrored accents and custom cabinetry that maximizes every inch, featuring reeded paneling, integrated lighting, and a warm oak bar top. A palette of Nero Marquina marble, leather, brass, and plush pleated lounge chairs completes the sensory experience—an invitation to linger in quiet conversation and enjoy the pleasures of good company under dim light.
